Working for the Director for the e-Learning Institute as a part-time employee, Virginia Belser has recently joined the e-Learning Institute as the e-Learning Program Manager. Her primary responsibility will be to help the College and the e-Learning Institute fulfill one of its primary goals by helping expose and promote the College's e-learning initiatives.
More specifically she will be responsible for:
1. Managing the creation of an international conference focused on e-Learning for the Arts and Design. This event is going to be a collaborative event with the University of Arts, London.
2. Working with faculty and assisting in the development, identification and oversight of online programs within the College as well as managing the logistics of delivering College e-learning courses through the World Campus and the e-Learning Cooperative.
3. Creating faculty development programs, including a faculty innovators series and a faculty academy program, which would help bring together faculty from the A&A and other campuses.
Most recently from the College of Information Sciences and Technology (IST) Virginia had the opportunity to implement outreach programs for the College as well as manage all aspects of the Pennsylvania College's Governor's School for Information Sciences and Technology. In addition to her experiences at IST, she gained instructional design expertise as she completed her Master's degree in Educational Media from Radford University followed by working at Juniata College as the Assistant Director for Teaching/Learning with Technology. While Virginia has a wealth of experience in the program management area, she also has an arts perspective as she received her BFA in Painting from the University of Connecticut and is a current member of the Central Pennsylvania Pastel Society.
