Small modules, big impact

I released two modules the other day that I figured I'd highlight here since they've both been released as a result of this site.  The first is the Wunderbar, you can see it at the bottom right corner of the screen right now.

Wunderbar is the result of a graphical / technical collaboration between me and Mike Collins.  It's a simple to install, very simple to configure bar that anyone can drop into their Drupal site by downloading the module.  It comes with many buttons out of the box and allows you to create custom labels and links off to the various social networking sites of your choice.  While the release is still in the alpha phases it's already gotten a lot of praise and will probably remain mostly the same moving forward.  I'm also in talks with the creator of a similar project called Appbar about getting the Wunderbar styling applied to his project.  Both will remain as options to d.o. users as his is a lot more flexible but with flexibility comes a need for an increased understanding of how drupal works in order to get the desired effect.  Wunderbar has been created with designers and non-technical site "admins" in mind and will remind both small in scope and elegantly simple.

The second project release is called Tweetboard and can be seen on the left hand side of the screen.  Tweetboard is a twitter integration project that's also very simple to implement.  All you need is an alpha invite (which you can get by downloading and installing my module), a drupal site, and a twitter account.  It's then simply turning it on and putting in your twitter name and voila! You now have the same ultra simple, ultra impressive twitter integration that this site has going for it.

I'll be speaking to the IDs on campus tomorrow so I'll be shifting my efforts from module development back to talking about module development ( :) ) hence this posting / mini announcement
